Microsoft is in talks to invest $10 billion in the popular chatbot artificial intelligence project (ChatGPT) as an initial investment, the latest version of which has left a fantastic impression on ordinary users and experts in artificial intelligence alike since its launch last month.

Sources said that the funding is estimated at $29 billion for the company (OpenAI), which develops (ChatGPT) bots, including new investments from Microsoft.

It was not immediately clear if the investment deal was completed, but documents sent to potential investors in recent weeks showed the terms of the deal, which is set to close by the end of 2022, according to the sources.

Microsoft’s injection of money will be part of a complex deal in which the US software giant will receive 75% of OpenAI’s profits until it recoups its investment, and after that, (OpenAI) will return to its current structure that reflects its ownership, where Microsoft owns 49% and owns Other investors have the same stake. Its non-profit parent company (OpenAI) still holds a 2% stake.

Notably, sources reported last October that Microsoft invested $1 billion in cash and cloud credits in OpenAI in 2019 and is currently in talks to increase its stake.

Believing that $29 billion is a lot of money for OpenAI, which is a good price to partner with Microsoft, which seems to be looking to take advantage of artificial intelligence in many of its upcoming projects, especially cloud computing, which seems to want to compete with Amazon Services (AWS).

Also, Microsoft has been testing for some time the integration of artificial intelligence technology that it developed (OpenAI) into its existing applications such as Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

It is also said that Microsoft is planning to release a version of the Bing search engine that uses ChatGPT to answer search queries more accurately than Google.
